Ilmington Show 2017

The annual Village Show will be held as usual on August Bank Holiday (this year Monday 28th), on the village playing fields on the Mickleton Road.  Starting at 1.00 pm, there is a full afternoon of entertainment.  Entrance prices for the whole Show (held at last year’s rate!) are: Adults - £3.00, Children - £2.00, Cars and children under 5 - FREE.

And if you would like to take a stall yourself to sell your produce or promote your organisation contact Brian-Payne@live.co.uk.  Prices: Basic Pitch for local society/charity: £12 in advance, £17 on the day (3mx3m plot with no stall provided); Commercial Basic Pitch: £35in advance, £40 on the day 3mx3m plot no stall provided); Commercial Pitch: £50 + Donation (10ft x 4ft Traditional Market Stalls with 10ft x 4ft Counter Board, Skirt & Canopy ready to go in the main area off the show) Limited numbers available.
If you would like to support this important event in the life of the village and have some spare time on Bank Holiday Monday, why not join the Show team? As always the dog agility demonstrations will provide fun for dogs and their owners but this year, as a new attraction, there will be a Fun Dog Show, featuring six categories - The Lovely Ladies (Bitches), The Handsome Hounds (Dogs), Young Handler, Best Groomed Pair (owner and dog), Cutest Cross Breed and Waggiest Tail. The competition is open to any dog and handler at £1.00 per dog per class. Entry on the day starting at 2.15 pm. This event is being run for us by Windmill Pet Supplies of Kenilworth who have promised many prizes - a great family and friends event so do get everyone involved. There will be prizes from the sponsors for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each category, plus a £50 bag of dog food for the Best in Show, drawn from the six category winners.

 Children are specially catered for by puppet shows, face-painting, bouncy castles, etc. And there will be the usual range of funfair stalls – as well as rides, archery, crafts, classic car display and parade. Indulge in a range of refreshments including a pig roast, BBQ, ice cream stall, Pimms bar or tea and cake while enjoying the AD concert band. Prepare to be moved by a flypast by an aircraft from the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (Lancaster Bomber and two Spitfires booked; operations permitting on the day). 

There is much more to see and enjoy including the village's annual show of flowers, fruit, vegetables, cookery and crafts with all its beautiful exhibits on display in the main marquee during the afternoon. This will open for viewing from around 2.30 pm with prize giving at 4.30 pm. The deadline for entries is Friday 25 August. They can be submitted at The Ilmington Community Shop and Café on Upper Green  6.30 and 8.00 pm or sent to Susan Brock, Daisy Cottage, Front St., Ilmington, CV36 4LA.
